Grandma’s Christmas Cookies

The one and only Christmas cookie.

The downside of these, is that you will want to eat around 10.

My grandma made this every Christmas,

and I am yet to find a better Christmas cookie.

Simple and perfect.

Bake chocolate chip cookies as normal.  I used Pillsbury, because I still have the bucket of it… but any cookie dough works.

Then when they cool, ice them with vanilla icing.  Pillsbury happens to be my favorite for icing.

Sprinkle with crystal sprinkles, red, green or both.

Now here is the key to these:

Put them in the freezer.

Once cold, they are perfect.

Fluffenutter Chocolate Chip Cookies

I was searching through my kitchen at home this weekend to find some ideas to use the rest of the monster size cookie dough my family got me.

I found some Fluff in my pantry, from my sister who still is always making Fluffenutter sandwiches.  If you don’t know what that is your childhood was deprived- and it’s a sandwich with peanut butter and marshmallow crème (Fluff).

I took the Pillsbury big deluxe chocolate chip cookie dough, Fluff and some creamy Skippy peanut butter.

Why we had creamy peanut butter and not crunchy was not in my control, I’m all about crunchy…but in this case it was good.

I basically made little chocolate chip cookie dough fluffenutter sandwiches.  I took a little cookie dough (about nickel size) spread on some Fluff, took another with peanut butter and put them together on the cookie sheet.  I also made them a little big, so the peanut butter and fluff don’t melt out of the cookie.

Bake them for about 15 minutes at 350.

And you have the best school lunch chocolate chip cookie you ever had.

Trail Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies

Found another favorite snack that works inside a chocolate chip cookie!

The only thing that can make trail mix better, is cookie dough.

These take about 15-20 min to make.

I used Toll House chocolate cookie dough, and Smart Sense chocolate and nut trail mix. (I recommend using a brand like Planters- but I’m living the college life and found this).

Mix cookie dough and trail mix together in a bowl, and put medium-sized scoops on the baking pan.  Don’t make them too small our they’ll fall apart, golf-ball size is perfect.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.

Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookies

The cookie dough pretzel rods were so good on wine day, I thought I’d try using a different kind of pretzel.

I had a bag of Bachman mini pretzels in my dorm, so I decided to mix them with Toll House Cookie Dough.

All I did was put the cookie dough in a bowl,

Crush up the pretzels

And mix them into the dough

Halloween Cookies

Pillsbury Ready To Bake shape sugar cookies are the best sugar cookies in the world.

pumpkin shape sugar cookies

I’m not sure why the center picture makes them taste better, but it does.

As good as they are, I figured some chocolate chip cookie dough could only make them better.

I used Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough, keepin it in the family.

Put it on the baking sheet as normal, and just pressed the sugar cookie square on top of the cookie dough.

Wine, Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Wine

My boyfriend’s family makes homemade wine, a lot of amazing homemade wine.

red wine grapes

This passed weekend we had the annual Wine Day party.

They start the wine making process and crush the grapes for next year. The rest of us watch, eating tons of food and drink great wines from the passed years.

This year they started with 2.5 tons of grapes (I did say a lot), so you can just imagine just how much amazing food and wine had to be enjoyed through that process. Really rough day.

wine bottle So what do you bring to this party?!

Cookies definitely.  Easy to eat without having to put down your wine glass, which no one wants to do.

Since Pretzel M&Ms worked so well, I decided to try out

Pretzel rods wrapped in chocolate chip cookie dough.

Another cookie that could not be easier to make…

I just used a bag of UTZ pretzel stix, because I thought they were the right length.

And then I used Tollhouse cookie dough on some and Pillsbury cookie dough on others to see which came out better.

I just wrapped each pretzel stick in cookie dough, as thin as I could get it.

And then bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.

(I noticed that Toll House took longer to bake, and spread away from the pretzel more.  They are easy to fix back into shape with a spatula, still I would recommend using Pillsbury for this cookie.)

I feel like these need some sort of dipping sauce,

like peanut butter and Nutella…something.

I’ll work on that…

Any Suggestions?

Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cookies

I had some red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting left over from a party.

chocolate chip cookie dough and cake

So I decided to experiment.

chocolate chip cookie ball

My first thought was cake balls, those amazing little things Starbucks sells on a stick.  I attempted them, wrapped in cookie dough of course, but the cake didn’t spread out with the dough so they fell apart.

When that didnt work, I just put a scoop of cake ontop of the Toll House cookie dough to bake.

red velvet chocolate chip cookie dough

And got perfectly red velvet infused chocolate chip cookies!  The icing and cake melts down into the cookie dough without burning or loosing taste.

I took about 3 slices worth of the cake

red velvet cake

mashed it up in a bowl

scooped the cake on top of the cookie dough on the baking sheet

bake for 10-15 min at 350

And you have red velvet chocolate chip cookies.

Pretzel M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies

M&M chocolate chip cookies are always good, so I thought I’d try to make them even better and use Pretzel M&Ms.

They are bigger then regular M&Ms, but the cookies stayed in one piece and tasted amazing.

SO easy to make!

Cookie Dough and M&Ms

I just used Tollhouse cookie dough, and the pretzel M&Ms.

Takes about 25 minutes, and cost $12 (I bought the 36 oz tub)

Use about 2–4 M&Ms in each tablespoon of cookie dough on the baking sheet. (press the dough a little bit so the M&M is half way covered-they are fat)

M&M chocolate chip cookies

Bake for 15 min

Make sure you let them cool off and settle so they don’t fall apart.

Pretzel + chocolate in a cookie. Heaven.
